Caplan Named United Way of Summit County 2016 Campaign Chair

On Tuesday, April 19th 2016, Buckingham Partner Bill Caplan began his term as the United Way of Summit County’s 2016 Campaign Chairperson. He follows in a tradition of leadership in our community. Lisle M. Buckingham, our founding partner, was honored to serve as the United Way Campaign Chair in the 1930’s.

The Campaign Chair is a key leadership position. As the Campaign Chair, Caplan will be directly involved in promoting United Way’s mission of improving lives through mobilizing the caring power of the community. In this role, Caplan will serve as a public spokesperson for the campaign, making statements in the media and encouraging participation on the part of prospective donors.

Caplan is taking over this role from former 2015 Chair, Stuart Glauberman of Malco Products, Inc.

“United Way’s transition under Stuart’s leadership toward a greater level of engagement has established a firm foundation for campaign success in 2016,” said Caplan. “I am energized to continue to promote corporate and individual engagement as a way to develop and deepen strong individual relationships that go beyond one-way fundraising efforts. The year-round opportunities that we are offering promote strategic volunteer involvement in the work of United Way, a critical element to advancing the common good.”

United Way of Summit County advances the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. The organization focuses on Education, Income and Health, as they are the building blocks for a good quality of life. Buckingham has been, and is proud to continue to be, an avid supporter of United Way. For more information about United Way of Summit County visit uwsummit.org
