Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs has a new president and managing partner.
The law firm announced in a news release that Steven A. Dimengo has succeeded John P. Slagter as the law firm’s leader.
Dimengo, who is based at the firm’s Fairlawn office, has been with Buckingham for 29 years, focusing on corporate law and taxation.
He said it is an honor to take on the role and that his goal will be to help the firm grow and embrace positive change.
“I believe in our ability to continue innovating in order to best guide our clients, exceed their expectations and evolve with them,” he said.
Slagter, who has been with the practice for 21 years, became president and managing partner in 2009 and has served as a part of the leadership team for the last 17 years.
Under his watch, Buckingham developed a strategic plan focused on better brand visibility, diversity and inclusion efforts and client service offerings.
He said the firm is well positioned for Dimengo to implement the final stage of that plan.
“I have always been impressed with Steve’s passion for client service and our firm,” Slagter said. “I am confident in Steve’s ability to lead this firm and take us to the next level.”
The firm, which got its start in Akron in 1913, also has offices in Cleveland and Canton.
