Community Involvement

Since the firm opened in 1913, Buckingham has supported the northeast Ohio community by contributing to local organizations for which we volunteer, donate and participate as leaders.

Every year, Buckingham proudly supports local non-profit organizations with monetary donations. In addition, our many attorneys and staff volunteer countless hours of their time at community events and charitable fundraisers.

Charitable giving has been a pertinent part of our firm’s culture since Lisle Buckingham helped to form the Akron Community Foundation, and in 1950, chaired a major fundraising campaign to build People’s Hospital, known today as Akron General Medical Center.

Currently, four Buckingham charitable funds exist to support the Akron, Cleveland and Canton communities. These funds are established and replenished by annual donations from the firm’s partners.

Buckingham understands the importance of corporate responsibility and believes in giving back to its local communities. We know that at the end of the day, it’s not about us; it’s about helping those in need.
