For the second consecutive year, Buckingham decorated and donated a tree for Akron Children’s Hospital’s Annual Holiday Tree Festival. This year, the Buckingham tree is named “Winter Elegance” and is adorned with white, silver and icy blue decorations.
In its 34th year, the Holiday Tree Festival pulls support from Akron community families and businesses who donate decorated trees. The trees are then put on display and sold to the public. A special signature event hosted by the hospital, the Holiday Tree Festival Preview Gala, is held the Friday before Thanksgiving every year, and gives attendees the chance to purchase the trees and raise additional funds for Akron Children’s Hospital through sales of trees, wreaths, holiday gifts and a silent auction.
“When I was a child, it was a tradition each year for my mom and her sisters to take all of the cousins down to the Tree Festival after Thanksgiving Dinner,” said Amy Mowen, Buckingham Client Account Representative and tree festival committee leader. “It was something we looked forward to each year; somewhat of a magical way to kick off the season. It is such a pleasure to now be a part of supporting this wonderful event through Buckingham.”
“Last year we had so much fun decorating our tree which raised $800.00 for Akron Children’s Hospital,” said Nicole Winkleman, Business Development & Marketing Coordinator. “We decided to participate in the festivities again, and all for a good cause.”
