RICHARD B. FRY III APPOINTED TO VICE CHAIR OF THE TAXATION LAW COMMITTEE OF OHIO STATE BAR ASSOCIATION

Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is proud to announce that Partner Richard B. Fry III has been appointed as Vice Chair of the Taxation Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA).

Fry was appointed by the current Chair, Kelvin Lawrence, of Baker & Hostetler LLP, and will become the Chair when Lawrence’s term expires next year.

“Rich has distinguished himself by his extensive service to the Committee, his professionalism and his commitment to advancing the profession,” said Lawrence. “He is a great member of the committee and will be a great Committee Chair.”

“I am very honored and humbled to have been appointed to this leadership role in the Taxation Committee,” said Fry.  “Going forward, I hope to continue the work of past Committee Chairs in improving the process for the administration of Ohio taxes, including keeping open dialogue between the tax administrators and tax practitioners, and continue to grow and encourage involvement in the Committee.”

Fry began with Buckingham as a Summer Associate in May 2007. He focuses his practice primarily on state and local tax matters, including Ohio tax controversies, sales and use tax and multistate tax planning. In addition, Fry has experience in general business corporate matters, including real estate transaction, commercial litigation and entity formation and business structure. He is a regular contributor to the Ohio State Tax Blog.

He is a member of the Akron Tax Club, and sits on the Aspire! Committee of the Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve in Akron.
