John Swansinger Named Office Partner-in-Charge of Buckingham’s Cleveland Office

Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of John Swansinger to Partner-In-Charge of the Cleveland office, effective June 20, 2019.
Swansinger joined Buckingham in 2013 as a member of the Firm’s Real Estate & Construction and Litigation practice groups. His practice centers around construction and real estate litigation. He is the author and creator of “YouDig?,” Buckingham’s online construction law platform.
“John has more than proven himself to be a passionate leader and a hardworking team player,” said Buckingham’s Managing Partner Steven Dimengo. “His creativity and enthusiasm will serve him well in this new role. I am confident that John will offer great leadership for our Cleveland office and the Firm.”
Swansinger succeeds David Drechsler, who served as the Cleveland Partner-in-Charge for 15 years. During his tenure, the office has gone through many changes, including the recent expansion and renovation of the office in 2018.
“Leading the Cleveland team has been a rewarding experience,” said Drechsler. “I have enjoyed seeing the office and Firm prosper during my tenure. I step aside with confidence as John takes over. He will do an excellent job and I look forward to seeing all the new things he brings to us.”
As Office Partner-in-Charge, Swansinger will support a collaborative and engaged culture, and visibility in the community. He will strive to advance Firm-wide recruitment efforts, adding to the office’s exceptional talent.

Swansinger attended The University of Akron School of Law for his Juris Doctorate. He has practiced law for 30 years in Cleveland, including several years as a managing partner of a mid-sized Cleveland firm.
