Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs Attorney Amanda Quan Presents on Healthcare Reform

(CLEVELAND, OH, July 29, 2013) ― Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC Employment and Litigation attorney, Amanda T. Quan, was selected as one of five presenters nationwide for a live, interactive, all-day webinar that provided course instruction for the Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist Designation. Quan was asked to present two of the eight modules for the online educational curriculum, including instruction on the topics of (1) the notice, reporting and disclosure requirements under the Affordable Care Act and (2) all taxes and related penalties under the Affordable Care Act. The webinar, hosted by the Los Angeles Association of Health Underwriters, was held on July 24, 2013.

Organized by the Healthcare Reform Center and Policy Institute and the Healthcare Reform Magazine, the Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist professional designation provides human resource and insurance professionals an educational and competitive edge by staying on top of the rules, regulations and interpretation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Quan has also been selected as a speaker for the upcoming National Healthcare Reform Conference. The conference is one part of six of the Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress, one of the largest healthcare conferences in the country. The Congress is taking place November 3-6, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Quan represents employers in all types of employment litigation in both federal and state courts, in labor and employment arbitration proceedings, as well as before various administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also advises and counsels employers on employment-related matters, including the Family and Medical Leave Act, regulatory compliance and progressive discipline. Quan is a frequently sought-after speaker on the Affordable Care Act, its impact on employers and best strategies for the upcoming years. She also presents on general employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employment policies and procedures, discipline, documentation, termination and best practices.

Quan earned her B.A. from McGill University and her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law. She currently serves as a Member on the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education and as a Board Member for the Junior League of Akron.
