Entry-Level Legal Secretary

Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC (“Buckingham”), has an opening in the Akron office for an entry-level Legal Secretary. Individuals with a college degree in English, Journalism, legal secretarial science or paralegal studies are encouraged to apply.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Individual will be trained to provide support to our highly-skilled legal secretarial staff in the practice areas of business, litigation, trusts and estates, labor and employment, and real estate and construction.
• Assist legal secretaries with assigned tasks which may include organizing files, preparing binders, completing administrative tasks, entering attorney time, and other projects as assigned.
• As skills build, individual will progressively be provided the opportunity for the application of independent judgment and initiative in legal support assignments.

 

Qualifications:

 

• Must have high energy and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Must have keen attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assignments.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Must have ability to work in a team-oriented, service focused environment and to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner.
• Must have ability and willingness to learn new programs and program updates.
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have ability to follow client confidentiality guidelines.
• Must possess general computer knowledge including, but not limited to, Word, Outlook and Excel.
• 1-2 years of legal experience preferred but not necessary.
