Continuing Education

Support staff and paralegal employees are required to complete 12 hours of training per year. The Firm offers employees the opportunity to meet the training requirements through attendance at Firm-sponsored educational classes, computer classes, brown bag luncheons, external training classes and The Learning Center.

The Firm encourages support staff and paralegals to enroll in job-related courses, to attend seminars and training workshops, and to participate in professional associations. The Firm will pay for such training if the content of the course, seminar, workshop, or membership directly improves the employee's quality of work and productivity, or reduces Firm costs.

Payment of dues for professional organizations deemed by the Firm to further the values and quality of work within the Firm will be authorized as long as it is within budgetary guidelines. If the employee is an officer in a professional organization, he or she will receive priority consideration for payment, provided that participation in that organization is considered in the best interest of the Firm.

The Firm supports and encourages the secretaries to attain the distinction of National Professional Legal Secretary Certification (PLS). Upon successful completion and attainment of the PLS Certificate , the Firm will award the legal secretary with a one-time payment of $250 and reimbursement of one-half of the study and exam expenses.
