May 23, 2016    •    < 1 min read

On Saturday, May 14th, Business Practice Group Chair, Rob Malone, took part in the seventh annual Towpath Century Ride. The 101 mile ride stretches from the banks of the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland to the southern-end of the trail in New Philadelphia. 2016 had the largest participation to date, with 125 cyclists taking part in the ride, all of which are required to complete the 101 mile trek.

Rob has participated in the Towpath Century Ride since its inception in 2009. The level of participation has increased exponentially over the years, with twelve cyclists the first year to 125 this year. Rob completed the ride over two days, with a total ride time of approximately 10 hours.

All 125 cyclists are responsible for raising funds for the Towpath, with an overall goal this year of $145,000. This year’s funds promote the development of connector trials for the regional trail system. Rob’s personal goal was to raise $1,000, which he not only reached, but exceeded, raising a total of $2,779. The 2016 participants raised a total of $119,930.50 so far.
The Towpath Century Ride will continue to accept donations until mid June. You can learn more about the ride and donate online by clicking here.
