Our
Cleveland Office Keeps Growing
Adds
Employment Law and Trusts & Estates Services
Greetings
to all of our clients and other friends this
holiday season! As our nation pulls together
to face a world still reacting to the challenging
events of this fall, I feel especially grateful
for the lasting relationships we have built
with so many of you over the years. I hope
that each of you, in looking back over the
momentous changes the year 2001 has brought,
can find comfort in the support of good friends
and the satisfaction of work well done.
We are devoting the entire December
issue of Advisor to exciting news
concerning our Cleveland office. To meet
the continuing requests we receive from individuals
and organizations in Greater Cleveland, we
have been steadily seeking to increase the
services we provide there. I am pleased to
report that a number of fine attorneys have
joined us in Cleveland during the past year,
bringing the total to 23 and making Clevelandour
second-largest office.
Most recently, Buckingham, Doolittle
& Burroughs, LLP is welcoming six attorneys
from the firm of Chattman, Gaines & Stern
to our Cleveland office. As of January 1,
2002, Gerald B. Chattman, Douglas J. Paul
and Ronald F. Wayne will become Shareholders
of the Firm. Lawrence Friedlander and Dale
A. Nowak will become Of Counsel, and Morris
L. Hawk will join BDB as an Associate. We
extend our sympathy to the family, friends,
and colleagues of John J. Sutula, a fine Chattman,
Gaines & Stern attorney who was to have
joined us but passed away this month.
These attorneys are an excellent
fit with our culture and commitment to client
service, and I am sure they will blend in
smoothly with our Cleveland office. They will
enable us to provide employment and trusts
and estate services to Cleveland clients directly
from the Cleveland office. Of course, the
resources of the entire Firm are always available
as needed to supplement work on any client’s
project.
The BDB Cleveland office now
has eight Shareholders, seven Of Counsel,
six Associates and two Staff Attorneys, as
well as a highly skilled support staff. The
office will retain its current location at
1375 E. 9th Street, Suite 1700
and will be taking over a portion of the 16th
floor for ongoing expansion.

Gerald
Chattman Becomes Shareholder-in-Charge
Jerry
Chattman will assume the role of Shareholder-in-Charge
of the Cleveland office. He plans to work closely
with Terry Vincent, who has been providing effective
leadership for us. I know that both new and ongoing
clients will continue to receive the responsive,
client-centered service we have offered since our
Firm's founding in 1913.
In joining Buckingham, the attorneys from the Chattman
firm are also continuing a long tradition of service.
Gerald Chattman's father, Harold M. Chattman, established
the Chattman firm, and since that time, the firm
has built an excellent reputation for commitment
to the welfare of their clients. We know that the
attorneys from the Chattman firm are looking forward
to having BDB's extensive resources to draw on as
they take their practices to the next level.
